Harrow pupils shone on stage at the Ching Ching Hau Po Woon Secondary School’s 12th English Public Speaking Competition on 18th April. Myra (Year 5, Dragon), Lily (Year 4, Dragon), Alexa (Year 3, Monkey) and Oscar (Year 4, Horse) were representing Harrow against over sixty Primary 3 to 6 pupils from different schools.
All participants recited two poems – Homework! Oh, Homework! and Mother to Son which went down much to the delight of the judges and audience. Having performed with vigour, confidence and emotion, Oscar picked up one of the top prizes, and Myra, Lily and Alexa also secured themselves runner-up positions. The Chief English Ambassador of HPWC commented on Harrow pupils’ success in the competition as “an inspiring experience to see so many young pupils with strong passion for English public speaking!”
Our congratulations to everyone who took part in the competition and represented the School admirably.
