Harrow Hong Kong is proud to welcome former England cricket captain Mike Gatting OBE on Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th April.
Mr. Gatting, one of England’s leading cricketers during the 1980s and 1990s, will share his insights and experiences at the School’s inspirational Speaker’s Forum on Wednesday 25th April, before taking to the field on Thursday 26th April to offer a masterclass to budding young Harrow cricketers.
Mr. Gatting’s crowning glory was to lead England to victory in the Ashes series in Australia in 1986-87. He was a powerful middle-order batsman, excellent fielder and useful medium-pace bowler. He represented England 79 times at Test level – 23 times as captain – played in 92 limited overs matches, and scored a total of 36549 runs across 551 first-class matches, making 493 catches and taking 158 wickets.
At county level he represented Middlesex for his entire career.
