Four Prep School pupils Alyssa, Carlos, Jake and Jamie participated in the Kids Lit Quiz World Finals in Toronto, Canada in July 2017. The students, along with teams from seven other countries, spent a week visiting the amazing tourist sites in Toronto, attending a literature conference, and competing in the finals. The team placed fifth but the scores were very close, showing the strength and determination of all the participants.
Kids’ Lit Quiz is a registered charity in Canada which aims to ensure today’s children acquire the skills gained from reading and inspire youth to become lifelong readers by channeling knowledge of children’s books into a fun and rewarding tournament. Every year, teams of students aged 10 to 13 years old compete locally and advance through regional and national championships to the final where top teams from around the world meet. Quizzes are held in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. Harrow Hong Kong students were also in the Final in New Zealand in August last year.
