Harrow International School Hong Kong is delighted to welcome Mr. Edward Gould as the new Chairman of the School’s Governing Body.
Mr. Gould has served as a Governor at Harrow for 12 years, and also is Chairman of Harrow International Schools Board.
He replaces Mr. Jack So as Chairman of the Harrow International School Hong Kong Board, with Mr. So stepping down from the position he has held since 2015 for personal reasons.
Mr. Gould studied at St. Edmund Hall College, University of Oxford, where he was an Oxford rugby blue and GB rower. He began his teaching career at Harrow UK, and later became Headmaster of Felsted School and Master at Marlborough College where he served for 11 years.
He was elected Chairman of the Headmasters’ and Headmistresses’ Conference in 2002 and has sat on the Board of the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority, as well as that of the Independent Schools’ Council.
Mr. Gould was Co-Founder and Chairman of the Boarding Education Alliance, Deputy Chairman of the English-Speaking Union of the Commonwealth, and was part of the UK government’s Ministerial Task Force on Gifted and Talented Education as well as the National Council for Educational Excellence. He was also Chairman of the United Learning Trust, one of the largest groups of schools in the United Kingdom.
