Eight Prep School students, in two teams, competed in the Hong Kong Kids Lit Championship at the German Swiss International Primary School on 6th October 2016. The main purpose of this competition is to promote reading and all of the children showed a genuine enthusiasm and love of literature. Unfortunately, there could only be one winning team.
After 100 questions from categories such as Doctors, Mythical Creatures, Beverages, Furniture, Prisons and Prisoners, Fairies and more, Alyssa Wong (Y7, Fry), Carlos Seade-Cabrera (Y8, Shackleton), Jake Brockwell (Y8, Banks) and Jamie Perring (Y6, Shackleton) were victorious and have earned an invitation to attend the Kids Lit Quiz World Finals in Toronto, Canada. The second team comprised of Kush Melwani (Y8, Shackleton), Balas Mao (Y7, Parks), Oscar Kennedy (Y8, Banks) and Nicholas Fothergill (Y6, Banks) were also successful by winning two out of the ten rounds and they were able to choose books to add to their personal collections. We are very proud of all of the students who participated by showing their vast knowledge of many kinds of literature. They all represented the School extremely well.
