Harrow International School Hong Kong is delighted to welcome Hon. Kenneth Lau Ip-keung, BBS, MH, JP as Chairman of the School’s Governing Body from 15 May 2019. This appointment follows the retirement of Mr. Edward Gould.
Mr. Lau is a dedicated member of Tuen Mun District Council and the wider Hong Kong community. In 2015 and 2016, he was elected uncontested as Chairman of the New Territories Heung Yee Kuk and a member of the Legislative Council representing Heung Yee Kuk Functional Constituency. Since July 2017, he has been a non-official member of the Executive Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
Being a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference since 2013, as well as other important roles in public service, Mr. Lau is devoted to facilitating cultural and economic exchanges between Hong Kong and Mainland China. Upholding the legacy of Heung Yee Kuk, Loving the Country, Loving Hong Kong, Loving the Villages, Mr. Lau wishes to instill Hong Kong youngsters a strong commitment, unity, and a sense of belongingness towards the Motherland, through constructive dialogue and dynamic experience.
Mr. Lau read Economics at the London School of Economics & Political Science, University of London. He is currently Vice-Chairman of Wing Tung Yick Holdings Limited, a private company of well-diversified businesses in Hong Kong.
