It’s showtime! The Prep School Production of Emil and the Detectives will be performed at 7pm tonight and for the next two nights. Rehearsals have gone well and it looks like being an outstanding show featuring 95 excited and enthusiastic Prep School students!
There will be a few tickets available for purchase on the door, or you can still get them from the Upper School Office during the day. If you are coming to watch, don’t forget that there will be live music from the Prep Soul Band, plus an art exhibition, in the courtyard next to the Transport Centre from 6pm each night.
The running time for the performance is approximately 110 minutes, including a 20-minute interval.
Prior to the performances, there will be a Prep School Art Exhibition, accompanied by live music from the Prep Soul Band, in the courtyard next to the Transport Centre. It should prove to be an exciting evening celebrating the talents of all our Prep School students.
Emil and the Detectives is the tale of young Emil Tischbein, who travels to Berlin carrying some money that his mother, Ida, has saved to give his grandmother. On the train to Berlin, he meets the mysterious Mr Snow who drugs him with a slice of apple. Emil wakes up to find his money – and Mr Snow – gone. Lost in the big city, he enlists the help of some of the children who live there – the ‘detectives’ of the play’s title. Together, they set out to solve the mystery of Mr Snow’s true identity and to get the money back before Emil’s long-suffering mother finds out.
